I grew up in Kampala Uganda and also lived in Tanzania and Kenya. I did my schooling in all three East African countries and my further education in London England, where I resided for many years. Thereafter I came to Canada. I have been blessed to recite Ginans/Geets in many cities and countries. Ginan recitation has been an intrinsic part of my life. I started reciting at a very young age, around 5 years old. Both the paternal and maternal side of my family are very gifted reciters. I lose myself in the Ginans, from the words to the raags. I feel very blessed and humbled for Mowla's divine grace and mercy. I truly believe that clarity of recitation is very important. Over the the years I have realized that, through the regular recitations of Ginans and divine grace, I gained a lot of esoteric understanding of the Ginans. Learning Ginan and recitation came very naturally to me; for this I am eternally grateful. An endless number of people have acted as inspiration! Among the first to mind include my grandfather, grandmother, mother, the late Alwaez Dr. Walji, Mukhi Rahim Jivraj, Alwaez Abuali, Alwaez Babul, Zarinbai Kanji,Taufiq Karmali etc.Centre/JK: Calgary Headquarters, Canada
