Kassam Ali M. Jaffer developed interest in ginans at a very early age since his father was a ginan reciter and his mentor. He got more involved in the meaning of ginans after becoming an alwaez. He then published a book in 1993 by the name of Jawahir-e-ginan a publication of Tariqah Board Pakistan. His book comprises of 10 topics with related ginans and its meaning. Kassam Ali M. Jaffer served as Honorary Secretary and President of Tariqah Board of Pakistan. He worked very closely with the Insititute of Ismaili Studies (IIS) on research materials, ginan and its meaning and translation of farameens. In the time of Sultan Mohammad Shah and Hazar Imam he was the Farman translator during deedars. He was named one of the top 100 Ismaili heroes for his contribution. His world view was shaped by ginans. He would always give references of ginans and explain its meaning. On numerous occasions the ginan scholars at the institute of Ismaili studies consulted him on words, meaning and context of the ginans. Kassam Ali M. Jaffer and Ghulam Haider M Jaffer started to learn and recite ginans at a very early age. Their father was expert in ginans therefore both brothers developed the interest in learning ginans and its meaning. Their father was from Jirak Sindh Pakistan.
