I have been reciting ginans since I was a very young girl. I was taught by my parents, ginan teachers and self taught from listening to other amazing reciters. I found inspiration and encouragement in so many different mentors over the years. From a very young age my mom enrolled me and my sister in all ginan and waez competions. I recited Dua and ginans at age three. I took part in ginan and waez competions. My special thanks and appreciation go to Arzina Merali who encouraged me to record my ginans and came to Toronto to do just that. I also want thank my parents, my, sister, my husband, my children and a very good friend, Late Gulibai Dhanji for there encouragement.Birthplace: Kisumu, Kenya
