I am originally from Jinja, Uganda in East Africa. I lived in the United Kingdom before settling in Ontario where I am a certified yoga teacher. I have three children and seven beautiful grandchildren that keep me young. Ever since I was a little girl, I loved to sing, especially ginans that were taught to me by my father. When my family moved to Gulu from Jinja, I regularly took part in ginan competitions, both locally and regionally and did well. I had the honor and privilege of reciting a ginan in the presence of our beloved Mowlana Hazar Imam in 1992, and my passion for reciting ginans has stayed with me over the years. I have served as a volunteer, both in England and Canada. I was also a Beaver Leader for scouts at Etobicoke and most recently in 2018, I was appointed as the Regional Council Member for Kingston, for the Ismaili Council of Ottawa. I enjoy giving back to the community and sharing my passion for yoga and ginans with those around me. I am a positive role model for so many, and I continue to share my special gifts each day.
