I am presently living in Edmonton, Canada. My interest in reciting ginans began when I was listening to Ginan CDs. I started to sing along and developed a deep connection in my heart. My inspiration was one of our Jamati MKs who sang beautifully and I began to learn from her most of the ginans that I am able to sing today. My son Shehzad, showed interest and began singing in Jamatkhan as well. It was an honour to be selected to be in the backup group to sing Ginan during Mowlana Karim Shah's padharamni in Calgary during 2018. I am grateful today to be able to feel that moment in my heart every time I sing Ginan in Jk. Thank you to Arzina Merali for taking the time to do the recording.Birthplace: Dar-es-Salaam
