I am daugheter of Saker (Sahure) and Hussein Rajabali Hussein and was born in Dar- es-Salaam, Tanzania. I used to participate in local ginan competitions and teach at the evening religion classes. I started singing at music parties in late 1970s as a novice singer. My mum, Saker Hussein-Datoo always encouraged me and taught me a few new ginans. I actively started singing ginans at various JKs after my mum passed away. Mowla bless her soul. Nowadays I make time to read the meanings of the ginans before my recitals. It brings new meaning to me. My deepest gratitude to Arzina Merali, who was encouraging and arranged for my recording in Edmonton in 2011 to produce an audio CD.Birthplace: Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania
