Profile Ginans (2)

I have been reciting Ginans since I was a young child. Both of my parents were passionate about reciting Ginans for various occasions in and outside of Jamatkhana. They ensured me and my siblings learned Ginans from a very young age. My earliest memories of reciting Ginans are from when I was two years old. Using a lantern, my father and I would wake up early and go out knocking on doors waking murids up for morning Jamatkhana. Once the Jamat had gathered, Mukhisaheb would ask me to start with a short recitation of any Ginan of my choice. It was such a big honor for me and my parents. Each night, my parents would teach me a few verses of a new Ginan so that I could recite a Ginan in the morning for Jamatkhana should Mukhisaheb ask me to. My zest for learning new Ginans and reciting Ginans continues to this day. For me, reciting Ginans and helping others learn various Ginans is a very satisfying hobby and an honor.
