Profile  Albums Ginans (2)

I must have been 10 to 12 years old when I started to recite after hearing my dad and mum reciting in Kigoma Jamatkhana. I got more interested when I went to Dar-es-Salaam for my secondary education and started reciting at the Girls hostel and at Darkhana Jamatkhana.Reciting ginans makes me happy and grounded. Once I had am chance of reciting khusiali ginan Ya Ali Khub Mijalas at Darkhana Jamatkhana in 1967, which was the happiest moment of my life. I also love reciting Kalam-e-Mowla, Anant Akhado, Moman Chetamni etc. I feel blessed I can recite, Shukar. I seek to learn the meanings of ginans and have come to learn a lot about our religion and spirituality. Our Pirs have given us so much knowledge through ginans. Shukar. I live in Edmonton now and get to recite ginans in Jamatkhana.

Birthplace: Kigoma, Tanzania
