My love for Ginans was sparked in my childhood when my mother would frequently play Ginan recordings and also recite them herself. I naturally began reciting Ginans at the age of two and have continued to cherish my God-given ability to sing. After God, these blessings are particularly due to my father, who has instilled a deep love for faith in my heart. Besides performing Ginan waros in different Jamatkhanas, I received the opportunity to recite Ya Ali Khub Majalis at the age of 13 after viewing the Diamond Jubilee Homage Ceremony in Atlanta, Georgia. But perhaps the most beautiful opportunity was performing the Ginan Uniya bi Uniya on the day Hazar Imam arrived in Atlanta, Georgia for his Diamond Jubilee visit. I have also participated in various virtual Ginan Mehfils, including a global recitation for Hazar Imam's Salgirah Mubarak in 2021. For me, Ginans are the door to internalizing the essence of our Tariqah. In fact, I am inspired by Imam Sultan Muhammad Shah's (s.a.) indication of how Ginans encompass valuable messages from the Quran. Therefore, through this Wonderful Tradition, I aspire to enlighten my understanding of being a true Ismaili Muslim.
