Ginans have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. My most vivid memories are of my dad lying beside me when I was a young child and falling asleep to him reciting ginans to me. I used to love learning new ginans and as I got older and ginan cds were made, I would listen to my Farida Fui’s cds and study them to learn new ginans. I loved being able to recite 'new' ginans in jamat khane. Ginans have always reminded me of my family, of my parents reciting kushiali ginans together, of reciting with my sister, of my nanabapa standing at the podium with his immense presence. They bring me peace and comfort and I cherish those feelings. I hope to pass on a love of ginans to my children as they grow.
